We found out the diagnosis of APML.
Cody was on the heart floor in the hospital where they were running all kinds of tests trying to determine why his heart was going in and out of Afib. He thought he was going to die, so the kids were rushed to us because he wanted to see them what he wondered may be the last time.
The results weren't supposed to be in yet, so we were surprised when one of the oncologist's and his nurse came through the door. I had Zane on my lap and amazingly enough with 2 small children in the room, there was silence besides the Dr's voice. Once he paused, Cody asked, "So, how much time do I have left?" We were told of the 50/50 chance of surviving induction therapy and that there was a long road ahead and the Dr informed Cody, "There's not an expiration date on you." He talked about positive attitude and will power. He told us that they would do everything they could do medically to get Cody through it and that we needed to do whatever we needed to do to get Cody through it.
Things were already going downhill and fast... and only continued to do so...
